TPE 13: Professional Development

Overview: This is a scanned copy of a workshop certificate from Project Learning Tree. Project Learning Tree's website describes it's program as follows: "Project Learning Tree gets kids outside.  We provide the training, resources, and support teachers need to help them make outdoor experiences part of everyday lesson plans.  We have also adapted many PLT activities for parents and families to use with children in the outdoors". This workshop was completed on April 19th, 2010 at the University of San Francsico. 

Justification for TPE 13: In order to improve my teaching practices and learn different techniques to reach my students, I have attended workshops that specialize in different teaching methods, new curriculum, and reaching students with different learning styles. This particular workshop emphasized working with students outdoors, encouraging them to explore their environment, and incorporating interdisciplinary lessons throughout the year.
