TPE 10: Instructional Time
Overview: This is a scanned copy of my lesson plan book from the week of my solo teaching. During this week I was required to cover a couple different activities and concepts. I needed to introduce the division of factions, read “Number the Stars”, and have the students work on their Great Lake State posters. In addition to these pre-arranged activities, I also needed to make sure that the students had practice with persuasive writing and were clear about the concepts of the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation).
Justification for TPE 10: This portion of my lesson plan book demonstrates my ability to plan out academic tasks and instructional tasks within very specific time constraints. Throughout this week I was able to plan out activities so that all objectives and requirements were met, as well as additional activities that I wanted to incorporate. Due to the unpredictability of the school day and the amount of time it takes to finish different tasks, there was time during some days to do “fun activities” such as rebus puzzles, ice breakers, and time to catch up on missed work. Each time period allowed enough time for all students to finish the given task, and due to the pre-planning that went into it all, allowed me to work individually with particular students throughout the day.
