Organization Overview
Mission Statement
"Inspired Youth serves the academic needs of students in Chicago's Uptown, Edgewater, and Rogers Park neighborhoods. From its beginnings in 1985 as a small, church-sponsored tutoring program, Inspired Youth has grown into a full-fledged (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation offering a variety of programs for those in elementary and high school. The tutoring program, with its emphasis on improving reading and writing skills, is the heart of what we do and has earned us recognition from numerous organizations, including the Chicago Bar Association" (inspiredyouthchicago.org).
Programs/Activities
Inspired Yoth offers 3 different programs: tutoring, Inspired Youth Singers, and a summer Piano Institute.
Worldview
Inspired Youth understands the importance of helping students with their education. By offering free tutoring lessons, students are able to ask questions and learn in a fun, stimulating environment. The Inspired Youth choir and Piano Institute allows for students to be given a chance to get involved with music and help further their creativity.
