Reading Key Words

Theme - Lesson that the characters learned in a story or the lesson that the author wanted the reader to learn.

Conflict - Problem in the story.

Mood - Feeling that the story gives you. (3 main- Humor, Fear, Sadness)

Plot - Main idea of the story.

Point of view - what or how a character would interpret the actions of the story.

 

Reading hint: Have your child read through the questions several times before they begin reading the passage. When your child is reading passages they should be highlighting or underlining important information. If you see that your child has the entire reading highlighted this is incorrect. Have them go back and underline ONLY the important information that they will need to answer the questions.
