Ultralight Backpacking

Davy and Jami Houle

This session will be about going lighter.  We have all, while backpacking, wished our pack weighed less.  We will help you understand how to make this happen.  A lighter pack makes backpacking more enjoyable, safer, and easier on the body.  We will talk about light-weight gear options, the mindset of an ultralight backpacker, how to do more with less, and multi-use items.  We will also talk about what it is like to get our young kids out backpacking.  Ultralight backpacking can be expensive.  We will cover some of the  costlier options as well as more budget friendly gear.  We will even talk about some homemade gear we use.
