Improvisation in the Wilderness

Brian Hill, Ph.D., AEMT is a Wilderness EMT who has been a member of Utah County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team for nine years, including three years as President.  He has taught Wilderness Medicine courses for NOLS during the past three years.  He is certified as a rescue diver and swiftwater rescue technician.  Dr. Hill has degrees in Outdoor Recreation from BYU and Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from Clemson University.  He is a professor of Experience Design and Management at BYU and teaches Canyoneering, Whitewater Rafting, and Dutch Oven Cooking for fun.  He has led 12 different 30-120 day expeditions across Southern Utah, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Europe, and Iceland.
