“We can be multi-cultural and still get along!” Kami Hoskins stated while speaking on the topic of biracial issues. African American, German, Swedish, and White are what make up Kami Hoskins, yet in the end she is an American. Kami Hoskins described being biracial as driving a bumper car and being slammed against the rail on both sides. Kami Hoskins opened my eyes to the biracial side of the world, and I learned many techniques and ideas that I can use in my classroom.
« I will always ask questions instead of assuming information so that I clearly understand all my students to teach them in the best way that I can.
« I will help students get involved in the classroom as well as the school so each student feels comfortable.
« As a teacher, I will encourage each biracial student’s process of exploration and provide as much support as needed because biracial students need to find who they are inside by themselves.
