     Timeline:

     Introduce gold to class

 

     Review tools and facts during the gold rush

     I would split my four tables into two groups and two groups would be working on the worksheets while the other group is panning for gold. They will switch after 15 minutes.

«     Have the students go out side in groups and pan for gold out of a large bucket filled with water, dirt, and fake gold flakes

     I will ask the students as a class for the last 5 minutes of the lesson to share what they saw, what they found, and what they learned.

     Draw a picture of one thing you learned today for homework and write a sentence about what you learned.
