Academic Faculty Assembly - September 14, 2012

See attachment 1a. Faculty Assembly Report for minutes & next steps.

Developing the new CTC Core Curriculum:

  • Determine our internal development process and timeline.
  • Prepare syllabi for Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approval
  • Due to the Coordinating Board November 2013

In November 2013 we will need to submit our core curriculum for review and approval under the new Texas Core Curriculum rules.  THECB will use the new core structure to evaluate courses we want included in the core effective in Fall 2014. This is a zero base process:  courses currently approved for the institution for core are not grandfathered.   To see more on the Texas revised core and CTC's requirements, consult the General Education Review page.
