Standard 4 Checklist

Context

The "Standard 4 Checklist" assignment was created for CI 3110: Elementary Social Studies Methods, during the Fall 2007 semester. It was created under the advisement of Dr. Claire Mammola.

Impact on Student Learning

I have created the Standard 4 Checklist to prove that I have met the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Social Studies.

Standard: Standard 4: Elementary teachers have a broad knowledge and understanding of the major concepts in social studies.
Indicator: Indicator 1: Teachers have a basic knowledge and understanding of the tapestry of world cultures. Teachers:
Detail: Know and appreciate creative works of world cultures,
Detail: Value the contributions of world cultures and religions,
Detail: Have an awareness of, an appreciation for, and sensitivity to diverse cultures, and
Detail: Recognize the impact of social diversity in a complex world.
