Demonstration Project
These projects will be due February 11th-14th, 2013
In this type of project, a particular scientific principal or fact is demonstrated. You may wish to show how something works, a science phenomenon, or how something is created naturally or in a lab. Observers should be able to operate any controls, switches, or devices of the equipment used for the demonstration. Portions of the research information collected, pictures, diagrams, and information about the demonstration should be neatly and securely displayed on the display board.
You will be required to present a 4-7 minute oral presentation on your project. Make sure you have practiced the presentation to make sure you have all the pertinent information included and that it is within the time limits.
Some topics to get your ideas flowing:
Osmosis in plants: How does it work?
How do pianos work?
How do birds fly?
Gears and how they work
How does a rocket function?
Pulleys: Why and how they work
DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELF TO THESE SUGGESTIONS. Make sure the topic of your project interests you. When you are researching, make sure there will be enough information to complete the project.
No crystals or volcanoes.
