My overall impression about the assessments I used and the data I received from them showed that I am on track to understanding how to effectively teach a unit of study as well as understand how each of the techniques/methods I use can have an individual effect on a person as well as create an opportunity for someone to hide within the lesson if I am not paying attention. There were many students who did well, I was able to see based on the entirety of their work that they understood the concepts and topics of the lesson, there were also some students who sort of got it and others who struggled to even understand the basics. The struggling students are the ones who stick out the most to me and make me reevaluate my methods the most; however I also know that I cannot forget to ensure that those students who do well in a classroom setting with little prodding need to be challenged as well. This reinforces to me the importance of creating differentiated assessments and the ability to verbally assess how students are doing on a day to day basis.
