The Culture of Candyland
Candyland began long ago when Willy Wonka
needed somewhere for the Umpa Loompas to live.
The Umpa Loompas set up a monarchy and created
laws for all the people and creatures who live there.
They also decided to rule all of the banks and decide
who would get money.
The people who live in Candyland are all different
ages and live in different regions. They all have jobs
that focus on different regions of Candyland and with
different types of candy, such as putting flavor into
the water, whale hunting, building candy houses and
distributing candy.
All the people of Candyland worship candy gods
and the story of Candyland is told in the art they
pass around to other lands. Art pieces show shapes
and colors of the roads they walk on as well as the
different kings and queens they have had.
The people of Candyland spend their days, when
they aren't at their various candy jobs, talking to
each other in their special "candy" language and
sitting in their houses eating candy as well as taking
walks along their colored trails to each others
houses.
