Naviance Assignment for Sophomores, Spring 2015

This assignment will introduce you to some of the features in the Naviance Family Connection tool that all Salpointe students will begin using this year. This assignment will be counted as a homework grade in your current Theology class. Failure to complete this task will give you a grade of ZERO for this assignment, which will factor into your semester grade in Theology. If you have any technical trouble with this task, please come to the Counseling Center for help or email Mr. Scott Evans at sevans@salpointe.org

There will be no extensions on the deadline of February 9th, 2015. Thank you!

Log on:                     Log on to Naviance at http://connection.naviance.com/salpointe.

Email box:                 Type your Salpointe NetClassroom user name, i.e. the one you use to check your grades. If you have not changed it, your default user name is your last name followed by the first two letters of your first name. For example, Susan Brown’s would be brownsu. Be sure to use your student log in, and not your parents’. Do not type your Salpointe email in this box.  You should use your NetClassroom username.

Password box:          Type your NetClassroom password. The original password was a 6-digit password with numbers and letters. You may have already changed your password to something easier to remember.

College Visit:             In the Colleges Tab, under My Colleges, click on View All Upcoming College Visits on the right side of the screen. Find “March 22nd College Fair” and sign up for that by clicking Sign Me Up. this is where and how you will sign up for college visits next fall when the reps come to Salpointe.

How this works:  You will receive an email reminder for your college visit. Print out that reminder and have your teacher sign it as your call slip to attend the session.

College Interests:     In the Colleges Tab, add at least two colleges that you are interested in attending. Click on Colleges I’m Thinking About and then click on Add To This List. Use the Look Up function on the right to find the college you wish to add. At the bottom of this page, click the yellow box Add Colleges. Back on the Colleges I’m Thinking About screen, click in the small white box to the left of your college name so that a  ü appears in the box. Before leaving this page, click Update Interest to save your changes.

Learning Style             Under the About Me tab, click on the Learning Style Inventory link.   It will reveal information about learning and working styles that work best with you. Go through and answer each question. This will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

One Last Step:          To get credit for this assignment, go to the My Planner tab. Under the purple tab Tasks Assigned to Me, click individually on each task you finished. In the left column, click Mark Complete for each one. You’re done! If you’d like, here are some other things you can do in Naviance.
