Computer Science for education majors has helped me strengthen my knowledge of computers, technology, and how both are used in Arizona’s education system. Specifically, I now feel comfortable using Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word. In addition, I have been taught more about Arizona’s technology standards which will help me teach appropriate and necessary computer skills to my future students. Lastly, the guest speaker, Ms. Janet Schwab from Navarrete Elementary, taught me more ways to be an effective teacher while integrating technology into the curriculum. This class has helped me not only become more computer literate, but I feel I will be a better teacher by being technologically advanced.
