I've traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous; saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I've been where no-one's been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
All with one library ticket
To the wonderful world of books.

This quote demonstrates what I have experienced in Children's Literature class. Each week, I had the privledge of finding multiple picture books containing multiple genres. These exercises have expanded my knowledge of good, quality literature. In addition, I have been able to teach and plan two literature lessons in a fourth grade classroom. This has helped me learn more about Arizona's Reading Standards and in enhancing my teaching skills. Furthermore, I have learned how to give an effective read-aloud and I was able to practice this new skill to my colleagues. All of these things have expanded my awareness of children's literature and my new knowledge will benefit me as a future teacher of literature.
