STEALING THE GOODS

Brainy finds the room he is looking for as he opens the last door. He sees his special prize sitting in a glass case in front of him in the middle of the room. It is the International Master Thief Prize Cup of the Year and Brainy has always wanted to have it to himself because it will look nice on his bookshelf at home.

Task Six:

Brainy knows the Cup is locked inside the glass case and guarded with all sorts of devices. He checks his watch again. He has 3 minutes to steal his treasure and get back out of the room. He must be quick. Every second counts.
How many SECONDS does Brainy have?

Task Seven:

Brainy looks down at the floor. He sees that there are red laser beams shooting across the path in front of him. Brainy knows that they stop for 15 second intervals and recharge. Brainy can walk through each one as they stop and stand very still and wait for the next one to stop and recharge. The lasers stop one at a time. There are 13 lasers.
How many MINUTES and SECONDS will it take Brainy to get through all the lasers?

Task Eight:

As Brainy walks back through the path where he has now turned off the lasers, he looks up and sees another small camera hidden in the ceiling. He sees some little red numbers and letters flashing on it in the dark. The light flashes -- 11.35 pm -- and he remembers that at 12.00 am the automatic locking doors on the museum will begin to close down, locking him inside if he is still there.
How many MINUTES until 12.00 am now?

Task Nine:

Brainy sprays some black paint on the camera lens and then he moves to the glass cabinet. He checks his watch again. He has 2 minutes and 15 seconds left to escape out of this room.
How many SECONDS left altogether now?

Task Ten:

Brainy takes out his special "Unlocking the International Master Thief Prize Cup of the Year Key" and unlocks the glass case. He picks up the Cup and sees his reflection in its shiny gold design. He forgets about the guards for a moment until he suddenly realises that the alarm under the Cup has been activated. He starts to panic. He has one minute and five seconds to escape out of the room now.
How many SECONDS altogether does he have left now?

If you have answered all the tasks, your group can sit quietly and wait. Check your answers.
