Loyola Transfer Seminar

Loyola Transfer Seminar

About the program: This course is designed to introduce new Transfer students to Loyola University Chicago campus resources, Jesuit traditions and values and will serve as an opportunity to connect students who are sharing a unique transfer experience.

UNIV 201 Learning Outcomes: As a result of completing this course students should be able to:

  • Analyze your academic plan looking forward to graduation.
  • Articulate Loyola’s Jesuit mission and identity.
  • Participate fully in the Loyola Experience curriculum
  • Utilize campus and community resources and support systems

Overseeing the UNIV 201 program provides me the opportunity to work with students and instructors to cultivate a learning environment that benefits both student and instructor.  Working with the instructor starting at recruitment, through training and into the semester has allowed me to grow through experiencing different pedagogical approaches.  Developing instructor training that considers the needs of the program, those of the students and the approach of the instructor has made me a better program steward.  Additionally, this experience has challenged me to grow in my own approach to teaching our students.
