The following paper is a situational plan to identify key environmental factors in two schools of the same district and to provide an introductory plan to begin to implement change. It assesses the standards as it proposes the development of programs to improve the academic readiness or remediation of students (educational opportunities- APAS Standard 2; Performance Indicator 5)) and promotes the embracement of diversity within the local community as we seek greater community involvement in our programs, including programs that connect kids as caring and informed citizens (APAS Standard 5; Performance Indicator 11; ISLLC Standard 1 & 2).
AZ- Arizona Professional Administrative Standards
Standard 2: The administrator facilitates the success of all students by understanding, responding to, and influencing the social, cultural, and legal aspects of the community. The performance assessment shall measure the extent to which the administrator:
Performance Indicator 5: Develops procedures to provide for equal educational opportunities in educational programs;
Standard 5: The administrator advocates and supports curricular and instructional programs which promote the success of students. The performance assessment shall measure the extent to which the administrator:
Performance Indicator 11: Implements programs to help students develop as caring and informed citizens; and
USA- ISLLC -  Standards for School Leaders (Standards)
Standard: Standard 1: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.
Standard: Standard 2: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

Effective Communication - Module 3, 6

The attached paper details understanding and applications for three models of effective communications and tools available to enhance communication within these three models. Meets APAS Standard 2; Performance Indicator 8; ISLLC Standard 2; Function C, because if a leader understands and applies these tools and strategies then this effective communication will have an impact and influence upon the learning community and its climate and culture. As for this standard's indicator, working effectively with policy makers only happens with a knowledge and use of effective communication strategies. Standard 3 and the accompanying indicator is addressed with effective usage of tools and models which allow for effective parent and community communications (APAS Standard 3; Performance Indicator 5).  Standard 4, PI 10 is addressed through rapport and active listening strategies to enhance communication and make things happen. All of this focus on improved communications will help build and sustain relationships within the learning community and correlates to ISLLC Standard 4; Function D.

Performance Indicator 5: Uses communications skills to strengthen community support;
Standard 4: The administrator effectively manages services, programs, operations, and resources. The performance assessment shall measure the extent to which the administrator:
Performance Indicator 10: Applies adult motivation research to select appropriate models for supervision of the organization;
USA- ISLLC Educational Leadership Policy Standards 2008
Standard: Standard 2: An education leader promotes the success of every student by advocating, nurturing and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.
Function: C. Create a personalized and motivating learning environment for students
Standard: Standard 4: An education leader promotes the success of every student by collaborating with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
Function: D. Build and sustain productive relationships with community partners
