Academic and Leadership Teams (JLAB: JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl) http://www.cofcontests.com/

Cadets compete in teams of 4 against other JROTC cadets around the world in an online competition trying to earn their way to the final championship round in Washington, DC.  The questions include a mixture of JROTC curriculum and current events questions as well as SAT-based questions in English, Math, and Science.  One goal of the program is to prepare students for state exit/graduation exams as well as college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT.

This team competes against other JROTC programs in New England with a heavy focus on physical fitness, land navigation, rope bridge construction, and a bit of academics.  The Raider season occurs during April and May.

 Rifle Marksmanship Team

This team competes with other schools in the Northeast Region of the US according to the Civilian Marksmanship Program.  The keys to their success are patience, understanding, safety, and accuracy.  Most of the competitions are conducted on our own JROTC rifle range right here in Hermon HS.  The competition season usually runs between November and March.  We also hold in-house competitions to compete for bragging rights.  Major Fortier is still holding the top spot!!!  Can anyone beat his score?
