Rationale
Context: This newsletter was created in my Media Technology class in the Fall of 2005. I used Microsoft Publisher to create this file. It was designed to be used with a group of second graders at Green Valley Elementary school in Mrs. Clifton's class. I created this newsletter with assistance from my professor as well as other studnets collaborating ideas and knowledge about Microsoft Publisher.
Impact: I would use this newsletter to introduce myself to a new group of students and parent(s)/guardian(s) at the beginning of the year. I would also use newsletters to inform parent(s)/guardian(s) of important events coming up as well as around holidays and the end of the year.
Alignment:
- NCDPI Standard 16, Indicator 3 This newsletter meets this standard by allowing open communication between myself as a teacher and the parent(s)/ guardian(s) of the students. This newsletter will help build partnership between the home and school by keeping the line of communication open and flexible.
- NETS-T V-C I have met this standard by using the newsletter to communicate pertinent information to the students and their parent(s)/guardian(s).
- NETS-T V-D This standard has been met through this newsletter because it allows the teacher to communicate what is happening in the classroom to the parent(s)/guardian(s) as well as others in the community. The newsletter is inform people outside of the classroom as to what is taking place within the classroom.
