Teaching Goals

As a future teacher I have many goals.  Among these are goals I have set for myself as a teacher, goals I have set for my students as learners and goals I have set for my professional future.

Goals I have set for myself as a teacher:

  • I aspire to recognize each student as an individual.
  • I will continue to better my students through life long learning.
  • I hope to meet each child's individual needs through teaching with a variety of instructional styles.
  • I will evaluate my students often to be assure they are learning at their personal instructional level.
  • I aim to teach a well rounded curriculum with a strong emphasis in technology integration.

Goals I have set for my students as learners:

  • I hope to instill a love for learning and exploration of knowledge.
  • I desire to create an atmosphere that involves inquiry based discoveries with open, talk intensive, reflections.
  • I will create an environment that encourages positive self-talk and reflective practices of student work.

Goals I have set for my professional future:

  • I will continue to grow as an educator by further advancing my knowledge in pertinent subject matters.
  • I plan on pursuing a career in education, sampling a variety of grade levels.
  • I will return to school to obtain my doctoral degree in School Psychology so that I may work with schools to better them in many ways.
  • I plan on practicing as School Psychologist within public elementary schools working with students, classes as a whole, teachers, administrators and parents and other caregivers of students.
  • Throughout my work as a Psychologist, I feel it is important that I continue to experience time in the classroom, therefor I plan on returning to teaching as I feel led or as I am needed.
