The Emmanuel d’Alzon Library serves the community of Assumption College, a small liberal arts private school in Worcester, MA. It supports undergraduate, graduate, and faculty research with its main collection and a few special collections, such as the French Institute. The d’Alzon Library building is made up of three levels and shares a small amount of space on the second floor with the Academic Support Center: a tutoring service for students. With the exception of the French Institute and Archives, all the offices and departments of the library staff are located on the first floor. It is a medium sized building with professional and paraprofessional staff of fifteen and a larger student staff that mainly assists with circulation. The library is an area of high activity throughout the week with students using computers for schoolwork, daily interlibrary loan requests, and research assistance and instruction. The d'Alzon Arts program is also run by the Library, hosting poetry readings and art showcases throughout the academic year. Further outreach is being done by the library staff through Game Night, an opportunity for students to come to the library after Friday hours to play a variety of board and card games, and a very active social media presence.
