The powerpoint of my exemplar is on my wiki: http://schoolnurse.pbwiki.com/EDIT+603
Integrated into this presentation were video clips that I hyperlinked into 2 slides. I was able to access them as I was using the SMARTboard. One video was from Brain Pop. It was a 5 minute cartoon on the immune system aimed at elementary level students. I cannot give a link, because you need a password. The other video was a five minute clip showing the correct way to cough. It can be found here. http://www.coughsafe.com/media.html. The SMARTboard at my school has a wireless audience participation remote that would allow the children to rate the quality of the coughing techniques like the judges in the video. This was unavailable at PHSMS. I plan to store this on my school's echalk site, so staff can access it at their convenience. I made a custom word find game at A to Z Teacher Stuff with the vocabulary from this presentation, and I printed out a copy to show my classmates where they could go to make custom word games for free.
1) 2) Obtain passwords for the several types of proprietary software in school. One clip from “Cells Alive” found to be unusable, as it cannot be used for any education purpose without written permission. There was not enough time to obtain permission. 4) Choose appropriate video clips and integrate it into Power Point via hyperlink. 5) Locate resources via teacher help web page on echalk. Found “A to Z Teacher Stuff” site that creates generic or custom word games. Uploaded vocabulary from to create a word find game. 6) Find online flash board game on topic, hyperlink into PPT. 7) Learn how to use SMARTboard . 8) Save presentation to a flash drive. 9) Save backup copy of presentation on Google Docs. 10) Install Flash plug-in on borrowed presentation computer so that game part on presentation would run. 11) Obtain override code for PHSMS internet so that video clip could be seen in spite of school filter.
