LEARNING THEORIES PODCAST

A 30-minute podcast created for preservice teachers ( middle and high school) taking a Learning Theories course I taught summer 2008. The content of the podcast responds to questions submitted by students. The podcast is organized into four main topics.

1. Using notebooks (journals) with special needs and young children

2. Multiculturalism and multicultural identity development (esp. youth culture)

3. Incorporating technology and youth literacies into curriculum (esp. math and science)

4. Using developmental models (e.g., Erikson, Bronfenbrenner, Phinney, etc.) to understand young people. Arthur Chickerning's Seven Vectors of Development is also introduced.
