Week 6

If you had the time, would you continue with this pursuit? Why or why not? What would you like to learn more about? Has this pursuit raised your interest in any additional areas?
Looking back even though I love interpreting and I love ASL. I really don't like preforming or rather having to interpret for a performer. After many entries of how I have enjoyed this and how I have re fallen in love with ASL why would I not want to become a music interpreters? 1. Reason is that it is hard for me to let loose in front of people. It would be an injustice at a concert if I do not interpret a song with out the same affect of Lady Gaga or Lizzo. Can you imagine going to a Lizzo concert and it seems like the interpreter seems to be bored or nervous. They would be missing out on a lot. 2. Its a lot of work and a lot of prepping involved. Really you have to understand all their word play and you have to enter their "thought world" meaning think about what they meant by that song and why they used those lyrics. I am an over thinker and one of my feedbacks on homework is how I over complicate things. I think I will just want to stick with VRS interpreting or K-12 interpreting. I hope no teachers ask me to interpret a music video though. So in the future I think I will think twice before I ever accept a concert interpreting job but I do have some friends who have interpreted at Disney and on Disney cruises and that seems like a lot of fun!
