Reflection

I started this pursuit with a blank excel spreadsheet. I made up some funny names and quaterly figures as a starting point and added things from there. Every week I just looke up a bunch of tips and found the ones I thought were good to show case. At first I was thinking that this would be too frustrating to learn but it really wasnt. There is so much information out there to learn excel. I knew I wanted to do this because in one of my interpreting classes we had to type our own invoices. I was so confused on how they should look or what we should fill out. I wanted to take this pursuit to better prepare myself to be more technologically savvy. I learned that I can do something very mundane and boring and put my own twist on it. I learned that excel isnt made for excel its made for the world to use it! I think I really emphasized in my pursuit that excel is what you make of it. It can be boring spreadsheets or I can be a fun and positive way to keeping track of information. Because of this pursuit Ive been inspired to learn more about other microsoft applications and even google sheets. Google sheets is awesome by the way. I realized I had a bad habit of counting something out because I think it doesnt apply to me but the more I read about all the tips excel has I realized how much I can do to automate and make everything more streamline. Knowing more about the computer and excel makes being a freelance interpreter less scary and less overwhelming.
