Stop 4: Problems at Valley Forge

AR

The winter at Valley Forge was a difficult time for George Washington and his troops.  George Washington set up camp about 20 miles to the west of the British who were set up comfortably in Philadelphia.  The men at Valley Forge suffered a harshy winter where they lacked decent food, clothing, and shelter.  During this period in 1778, many men deserted, or left without permission, the American army.  However, the Continental Army survived and pushed through their hardships.
