Teacher Classroom Webpage
Context: Using Taskstream, I created this teacher classroom website. I created this web folio in Jeff Goodman's CI 3750 class during my Fall 2005 semester. This project is intended for a sixth grade class, but modifications could be made to adapt it for a younger or older class. I took pictures of myself teaching using a digital camera, and after croping and re-sizing them, I inserted them into my portfolio. I researched fun, educational links for parents and students.
Impact: When I teach, I will be able to use this webpage as a fun, multi-dimensional way to communicate with students, fellow teachers, and parents. The bright colors and interesting pictures will intrigue my students, and the information will be beneficial for parents and teachers. Students will be able to check their homework, see the activities we've done through pictures, browse the calendars for fun projects coming up, and visit the fun website links that will be changed periodically.
Alignment: I have met the following standards:
NETS-T standard II-B because I have researched learning with technology by reviewing websites and articles on the benefits of technology integration. Students learn more when they are interested in the material, and technology is an effective way to increase intrigue and excitement.
NETS-T standard II-C because I located and evaluated websites before including them as links on my webpage.
NETS-T standard II-E because this website will help me manage student learning. Students will be asked to critically examine the lesson plans and links provided.
NETS-T standard IV-B because I have collected and analyzed data through my research with the media survey. I have used the research process to communicate with specific students, and I can use the results to communicate with all the students.
NETS-T standard V-A because I can use this website to help me learn and develop professionally, because I will constantly be adding and updating links for parents and students. I will also be learning about the effect of the media on my student's perceptions of themselves through yearly media survey projects.
NETS-T standard VI-A because I have included a link to a media release permission form, both in English and in Spanish, that has been completed prior to posting any image of a student. I have also designed the webpage to be password protected, further ensuring the privacy of every student.
NETS-T standard VI-C because I have included a link to the permission slip in Spanish, illustrating my ability to find technology that supports diversity.
