This Scavanger Hunt is geared toward 8th graders at Northern Middle School in Mr. Lander and Mr. Gleason's U.S. History class.

Concept Statement

     Students will begin to understand the concept of the War of 1812 through and understanding of different Battles and the influence of the British during this time period. The students will search through the different websites as well as pictures related to the War of 1812. Students will begin to gain a better appreciation for the War and understand its influence on the United States today.

Concepts and Thinking:

For those students are are really interested in the War of 1812 trying looking through some art history websites online. Students can learn a great deal about history from the types of paintings and drawing related to these events.

For those students that are interested in the artwork during the War of 1812 make sure to take a look at all of the paintings during this time period. Students will be able to grasp different concepts discovered during the time period as well as different ideas and concepts still used today.
