During my fall semester in 2007 I attended Westwood Elementary School in Ashe County every Wednesday in September & October, and then every day for the month of November. I was placed in a third grade classroom with Mandy Weise.  I observed and worked with her and conducted a week long social studies unit on communities.  Along with this unit, I taught a series of math lessons on geometric solids that included interactive SmartBoard activities.  This experience greatly prepared me for student teaching and ultimately for my teaching career.  My confidence in teaching with many types of technology increased as did my knowledge of activities incorporating technology.
