My student teaching experience was one that has greatly prepared me for my teaching career. The experience of being able to plan and instruct lessons as well as balance classroom management strategies and behavior has helped me grow and get ready to teach my own classroom.
I performed my student teaching at Fallston Elementary School in Cleveland County, North Carolina. I was in a first grade classroom with Miss LaRae Moyer who had been teaching for eight years. During my time student teaching I was very fortunate to be in a classroom that had a great deal of technology. I planned SmartBoard lessons and activities everyday that went along with the first grade curriculum. I also planned and taught a unit on American Sign Language which is included in this portfolio, entitled "Impact on Learning Unit."
