Artifact 72 - 3 anecdotal student success stories

Attached below are letters/testimonials from former and current students. A brief anecdotal introduction to each piece of correspondence follows:

The first letter is from a senior, Connor, who took both EFE 1 and 2, cooperative education for two years, and will graduate in June 2010.  Connor is aware of the Exemplary Standards Review process from last year and wanted to write a letter stating the value of Education for Employment in his life.  The letter unedited by the instructor speaks volumes for itself.

The second letter is from a former student, Leanne, who will graduate from Radford University in May 2010 and is applying for Radford's graduate program to receive a master's degree in Education.  Her undergraduate degree will be in elementary education.  Having known this student since middle school and staying in touch with Leanne throughout her college career, she requested a letter of recommendation for acceptance into Radford's graduate program. Learning of the Governor's Standards Program Review, she volunteered to write a letter of recommendation in return.  It is very rewarding to read Leanne's letter as she reflects on my instruction and influence on her life.  After completing undergraduate education classes and teaching internships, it is interesting to read her analysis of the teaching qualities valued by the young adults getting ready to enter the profession.

The third correspondence is an email from a current senior who is an Education for Employment level 1 student.  He requested a letter of recommendation for college and upon reading the letter, his email says it all.  If this student was not a senior, it is definite that he would be enrolled in Education for Employment 2 next year!

The fourth letter is from a female senior who has taken EFE 1 and 2.  She is concurrently enrolled in an Occupational Training program and is completing an unpaid internship.  It has been a pleasure to see the academic and personal growth in this young lady over the last two years; likewise she exhibits self-confidence with the work readiness skills learned, as she volunteers to help peers obtain performance proficiency.
