Not applicable. Although the EFE program is open to students with special needs, including physical disabilities, enrollments of the past several years have not included anyone requiring adaptive technology. If a student were to enroll who required such accomodations, it would be provided.
Based on the instructor's confidential listing of special education students, the Education for Employment has 29 special needs students identified out of 60 total students; this calculates to nearly 50% of the student population enrolled in the three Education for Employment classes offered. The special education areas of eligibility include: learning disabled, speech and language impairment, emotionally disturbed, mentally retarded, and other health impairments. All 29 students have an IEP for accommodations and the EFE instructor is one of the general education teachers who participates in the parent conferences, student re-evaluations, and transitional planning meetings. Generally the Education for Employment teacher participates in at least one IEP conference weekly. Attached are sample IEP's for three different areas of eligibility.
Also attached are 3 lesson plans to accommodate a variety of special needs learners.
