Mission of Platte Woods United Methodist Church (PWUMC) Children's Ministry

PWUMC is dedicated to providing a nurturing, inviting and safe environment for children. Whether it's Sunday School,
Vacation Bible School, childcare, or any other activity, we strive to present God's love to each and every child.

The following video highlights events and members of the youth programs at PWUMC.

What do we do at the Children's Ministry?

Several programs within the Children's Ministry serve to enrich, engage, and support our children and their faith. A few of these are listed below:

Sunday School is offered for each age group from toddlers to fifth grade. In this setting, lead teachers and Children's Ministers provide educational, experiential, and explorative opportunities for children. Activities run from service projects to watching and analyzing movies to making fun crafts.

Parent's Day Out (PDO) is a system of childcare services through kindergarten for those parents who are pressed for time or need a little extra help. Educational opportunities at PDO increase as the children age, and the program is flexible to fit the needs of individual families.

Scout Programs, including Boy, Cub, and Girl Scouts, are another outlet by which PWUMC offers children of all ages a setting in which they can grow and explore the world. These programs are not run by the church, but PWUMC gladly offers a place for them to meet and learn.

PWUMC Worldview

At PWUMC Children's Ministry, we believe that everyone has the right to be heard and valued. We integrate our methodist
beliefs into a realistic understanding of the world by offering a setting where people may explore and enlarge their passions.
