Welcome. I hope that you will develop an interest in learning about peoples of different cultures and countries. Do your best work and respect others.

 

MONDAY: Why is SW Asia important? Look over the course syllabus and course requirements tonight. There will be a quiz on this tomorrow.   My email address is Tim-griffin@scusd.edu  

 

Start on the maps of SW Asia. Maps are due next Wednesdaty. Got color pencils?  

 

TUESDAY:  Hand out SWA map assignment. Map assignment is due next Wednesday, the 6th.

Quiz on the course syllabus and course requirements. Introduction to the five themes of geography… you’ll attaching one of the five themes onto your Current Events every Thursday.

WEDNESDAY: Review the 5 themes of geography and World Cultures Model. Introductory vocabulary to SW Asia… What can one learn about SW Asia and the people that live there?

 

THURSDAY: Start “The Human Planet – Deserts, Life in the Furnace”. What does it take to live in desert regions? How is desert life different from that in Sacramento, California? Why are many desert peoples Muslim?

Maps are due Wednesday. Know both maps, geographic as well as political. 

 

FRIDAY: Finish “The Human Planet…” …

Start on Ch. 25, Section 1 reading guides for Tuesday. Be sure to include the Section prologues. Quiz on Tuesday.
