Language Arts is one of the core subjects taught in elementary schools. During my time at Appalachian I took RE 3030, a reading methods class focused on early elementary grades, and RE 4030, a reading methods class focused on upper elementary grades. Between these two classes and my internships in kindergarten and third grade, as well as student teaching in third grade, I have come away with a variety of lessons and strategies pertaining to reading and language arts instruction.
