My Strengths in Leadership

While a student at John Brown University, I had the opportunity to utilize the Clifton StrengthsFinder to gain personal insight. The following are the results of this assessment, highlights of my strength characteristics, and tabs further elaborating on each strength.

Activator, Restorative, Individualization, Input, Futuristic

I lead action and solve problems. I do not like to sit around waiting for others to start the work; I lead by taking charge and instigating forward motion. I am not one to shy away from challenges and problems. I draw strength from overcoming problems and constantly seeking solutions. When I encounter a problem, I do not see it as an end to my task but as a new beginning for a different way of solving the problem. I take the time to get to know others individually (strength ' individualization).  I do not hurry to stereotype or put people 'in a box.' I recognize that personality is multi-faceted, both mine and others. I am a collector of information (input) as indicated by my valuing knowledge. I look forward to what is to come, to goals and expectations and end results. I am energized, not intimidated, by looking towards the future.

"Gallup research has found that employees who have the opportunity to use their strengths are six times as likely to be engaged in their work and more than three times as likely to report having an excellent quality of life than employees who don't get to focus on what they do best."
