Dear Families,
Here we are getting ready for the beginning of the Advent season. There are plans, preparations, and purchases to be made along with decorating, mailing, and putting things together. Children, too, are anticipating the jots of Christmas time. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, please don’t lose sight of what we are really preparing for. Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for Jesus and celebrating His birthday. During this coming Advent season, remember, “Jesus is the Reason for the Season.”
This week in our Jesus time, we will learn the story of Zechariah. Zechariah and Elizabeth were the parents of John, the forerunner of Christ. When Zechariah and Elizabeth were very old, an angel told Zechariah that he and Elizabeth would have a son. When Zechariah did not believe the angel, he was not able to talk until John was born.
Our letter person this week is Mr. G. He has a gob of gooey gum that sticks to his hair! Mr. G has lots of problems whenever he chews gum. He never seems to remember to throw his gum away in the garbage. He is now learning, along with all of my classes, that gum and all litter belong in the garbage. It is one way to keep our earth clean.
We are getting ready for the Dickens in Dundee Christmas tree decorating contest. Preschool is making special decorations for one of the trees. I hope you all come out to see and vote for your favorite tree – the one your child helped decorate. J We will, also, be decorating our classroom.
During the month of December, I will be getting ready for our January Parent/Teacher Conference. I will soon be sending home a sign-up sheet for you parents to select times that would be convenient for your conference time. By doing this now, I can work on the scheduling of conferences over our Christmas Break.
Immanuel Church will be having midweek Advent Services starting this Wednesday, December 2nd. You are welcome to join us as we prepare our hearts for God’s greatest gift – His Son, Jesus. Advent services are every Wednesday before Christmas either at 10:30 AM or 7:00 PM.
December Tuition is now due.
