Rationale for Intern Journal 2

 

Context

Under the advisement of Dr. Lynn Bercaw and my cooperating teacher at Green Valley Elementary School I completed a semester long internship.  During this internship I became involved in a lot of projects and formed relationships with the administrators, teachers, and students that have given me both experience and guidance as I finish my education to become a certified teacher.  This journal is one excerpt from my internship and is written around the subject of observations and analysis of a classroom.

 

Impact

This experience in the classroom has helped me realize how much I want to become a teacher and make a difference in a child's life.  It is definitely my calling in life and through this internship I have realized that and so much more. 

 

Alignment

I have met NC Standard 14: Indicator 5 because I analyzed center time and the type of centers that are in my cooperating teacher's classroom. Some of the things that I thought about whether or not these centers encourage or discourage prejudice and stereotypical perspectives.
