Rationale:Database for Website Evaluations

Context

Using Microsoft Works 4.0, I made a database using evaluations I made of websites.  I looked at various educational websites and evaluated them by target audience, description, objective, strengths, weaknesses, and rating (1-5, 5 being the best).  First I wrote them in a paper database then I entered them into an electronic database and sorted them alphabetically and filtered them for the best websites by comparing their rating. 

Impact

Now I have a list of good websites that I can use for educational resources and use for teaching ideas.  I also know a database program I can use to organize data in my class; (ex.  Background info on students, contact information for parents, etc.)

Alignment

I have met NETS Competency IIC because I evaluated educational websites and described in my database how I can use them in my future classroom.

I have met NETS Competency IVC because I have created both a paper database and a computerized database to describe how I will use these websites in lessons and activities in my classroom.  I have also described how some of the websites can assist me in my pre-and in-service teaching.
