Context: This unit was created for CI 3750, Integrating Media and Technology into Teaching. It was created under the advisement of Dr. Jeff Goodman.
The web page was developed so that students can find web sites with fun and educational games and facts, be able to see up coming holidays and events, and so that parents can find web sites that will be helpful for them. It also contains pictures of what we have done in class.
Impact on Student Learning: This unit contains a variety of web sites that will prove very helpful when they are struggling with certain aspects of a lesson or unit in math, spelling, and science.
Students will be able to play games that will help them see how to do something they don't fully understand how to do or help them improve on something they have room to improve on.
Alignment: This unit met the following North Carolina Standards for Elementary School teachers:
Standard 7: Elementary teachers use developmentally appropriate strategies to design and deliver instruction in all areas of the elementary curriculum.
Indicator 3: This indicator was met because students prior knowledge and interests were gauged in a pre-assessment as well as through interest surveys. In addition, throughout the unit, teachers informally gathered information to help play for instruction.
-I met this standard by taking a survey of the students and what there favorite television shows were.
Standard 16: Elementary teachers develop as leaders in their schools and communities by staying informed about educational policy issues and supporting professional development. Elementary teachers participate in co-curricular activities, provide leadership in student and curriculum involvement, and connect these activities to the development of citizenship ideals in their students.

I met this standard by including web sites for the students to go to that pertain to things they are studying in class.
