Life at Longwood

My Campus Involment

Here at Longwood University, the students are offered countless opportunities to get involved outside of their classes. There are a few extracurricular organizations that I am very involved with and in the future I hope to be involved with even more such as the ISYS organization which I will more than likely will become involved with this upcoming semester. Here are some of the current organizations that I am involved with.

Theta Chi Fraternity (Caleb Briggs Photography)

Probably the biggest thing that I am involved with on campus is my fraternity Theta Chi. I joined Theta Chi in the fall semester of 2014. It has been a life changing process and through it I have met some of my best friends as well as being given tools to further succeed in life. Joining a fraternity teaches you many essential life skills that we use everyday. From things as simple as being able to hold a conversation, which you learn through meeting all of the other members, to things such as learning about the inner workings of an organization through going to chapter every week. Theta Chi is a large part of my involvement on campus and has impacted me more than any other organization at Longwood has so far.

Club Ultimate Frisbee

Ulimate frisbee was the very first club that I joined here at Longwood and the club and the team all hold a special place in my heart. I had been interested in playing ultimate frisbee since my sophomore year of high school but I had no where and no one to play with at my home town. When I first joined I had no idea how to play, but that never affected anyone's opinion of me. Instead all the members were very helpful and some of the seniors really helped me to learn the sport. Now I can say that I am one of our top players and was even elected to be our Vice President for this upcoming year.
