What I like to do

Outside of school, there are many things that I enjoy doing other than working on my academics. Below are a few of my favorite hobbies and interests as well as a brief synapse of how they affect my life. Although I am always finding new and interesting things that I like to do, these things have stuck with me for awhile and have grown to become a very major part of my life.

Guitar

Guitar has been something that I have enjoyed doing for a very long time now (a little over 3 years). I started my journey of teaching myself to play guitar by simply playing songs that I liked by looking up the sheet music for the songs. That then slowly progressed to me learning more difficult songs as well as coming up with tunes and songs of my own. Playing guitar has given me a way to express myself that nothing else can and has even been a way for me to help overcome various hardships I have had throughout my life. Making music is a feeling that I love and one that I will probably never get tired of. Whenever I play I am always striving to play better than I could before and to always keep learning and progressing.

Longboarding (Credit: Wallpapercave.com)

Longboarding is one of the more recent hobbies that I have picked up. It is very different from what is stereotypical of "skateboarding" and what it means to be associated with it.  Instead, longboarding is more about being in a peaceful state of mind and maneuvering your board to the contours of the road. For me it creates this feeling as if you are one with the road, similar to that of the rush that driving a car down a windy road would give you. It's a great sport and I have come to enjoy it ever since I started doing it a year ago.

Ultimate Frisbee

Now I know that I already talked about ultimate frisbee in one of my earlier pages, but it just too major of a part of my life to leave out on this page. It is without a doubt my favorite sport that I am/have ever been involved with and my fellow teammates are sure to become lifelong friends of mine. I am constantly trying to progress in ultimate frisbee and I work harder at this than I do with any of my other hobbies. Whenever I have the free time I will go and throw around with my friends in order to perfect my throwing and to better my catching as well, and that's not even including the 5 hours of practice that I attend each week. All in all, ultimate frisbee has been my favorite pass time and it has helped push me to achieve more than what I thought I previously could.
