Franklin D. Roosevelt was born in 1882 in Hyde Park, New York.  His family was very wealthy.  Roosevelt was smart and he studied Law at Columbia University. 

Franklin Roosevelt married Eleanor Roosevelt in 1905. They had six children.

Before he was president he was the governor of New York.

Roosevelt was elected president in 1933.  He served from 1933 to 1945.  President Roosevelt was elected to four terms! He is the only president who ever served more than two terms as president.  His Vice President was Harry Truman. Franklin Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States.  

His presidency was very important.  During his presidency he helped America out of the Great Depression.  The Great Depression was a time when many people were poor and couldn't find a job.  President Roosevelt helped the country through these hard times.  Also during his presidency, World War Two was fought in Europe.  American troops helped defeat the enemy to win the war. 

President Roosevelt liked to talk to Americans over the radio.  He was also the first president to be shown on T.V. Another interesting fact is that President Roosevelt was the first president to fly on an airplane.
