Use the Text & Image button of the Edit Content page to enter text & images directly into Taskstream for the requirement or selected area of a presentation folio/web page. Text can include bullet lists, tables, etc. You can also upload your own images or select from available stock images to illustrate your work.

Adding Text

Click the "Text & Image" from the Add Bar to add additional text and images to your portfolio.

After clicking the "Text and Image" button, a WYSIWYG (pronouced wiz-ee-wig) menu will load into your browser.  WYSIWYG is an acronym for "What You See Is What You Get".  It's an editing tool that allows users to edit web based content without actually knowing how to code in HTML.

Hover over each icon the WYSISWYG menu to see a description of each tool.

Adding Images

To add images, click the Add an Image to your text section link at the top of the WYSIWYG editor.

You can either choose to upload your own image from your computer or choose one of the stock photos available from Taskstream.

Images must be less than 512 KB in size. Permissible file formats are gif or .jpg. For Mac users, make sure to add .gif and/or .jpg extensions to the file name.



WYSISWYG Options

HTML Use to toggle between WYSISWYG editing and HTML source code editing.  Unless you have knowledge in writing HTML code you do not need to use this feature.
Cut Cut selected text
Copy Copy selected text
Paste Paste copied text
Paste As Plain Text Pastes copied text in it's simplest form.  When copying from other programs, such as Microsoft Office Word, it is best to paste as plain text as Word often attaches its own styles to text which may combat with the styles set forth in Taskstream.
Print Print the page you are working on
Undo Undo the last action performed
Redo Redo the last action you undid
Find Displays the Find and Replace Dialog box.  Search for text within the portfolio section you are editing.
Replace Displays the Find and Replace Dialog box.  Use this tool to select instances of specific text and replace it with something else.
Select All Select all text and images within the WYSIWYG editor.
Remove Format Removes all formating from selected text.
Bold Makes selected text bold
Italic Makes selected text italic
Underline Underlines selected text
Strike Through Strikes a line through selected text
Subscript Positions selected text slightly lower from the rest of the text
Superscript Positions selected text slightly higher form the rest of the text
Insert/Remove Numbered List Create a numbered list

Insert/Remove Bulleted List Create a bullet list

Decrease Indent Decrease an indent
Increase Indent Increase an indent

Format (Drop Down Menu) Use to apply a pre-formated style to selected text.
Font Select desired font
Size Select desired font size
Paragraph Alignments (Left, Center, Right, Justified) Adjust the alignment of text
Link Opens the Link dialog box. Use to create a link within your text
Unlink Removes link from selected text
Anchor Opens the "Anchor Properties" dialog box.  Typically links will point to the top of the page, but with Anchors you can create links to a specifc place on a page.  You can than use the Link dialog box to link to an anchor. For example, click here to go back to the top of this page.
Image Opens the "Image Properites" dialog box. Because your portfolio is web based, any images inserted using this tool must be hosted from a third party source and cannot being uploaded from your computer directly.  For a list of free online web hosting sites, click here.
Table Opens the "Table Properites" dialog box.  Use to display tabular data.
Insert Horizontal Line Inserts a horizontal line across the page.
Can be used to break up sections of text.
Insert Special Character Opens the "Select Special Character" dialog box.  Use to insert characters not found on your keyboard. (i.e. ©, ®, ►, ™, ¼, ¢)
Text Color Changes the color of selected text.
Background Color Use to change the background color of text.
Show Blocks Use to show/hide blocks used to build your content.
WIRIS editor

The WIRIS editor is another WYSIWYG editor that allows you to insert mathmatical equations.
