This course teaches students how to develop a systematic approach for evaluating, preparing for, and seeking career opportunities. This portfolio-based
personal development course provides students the opportunity to discover how personal qualities relate to successful performance.
2nd Period - 10:05 – 11:35 - 8143 Marketing Dynamics Credit: 3 Semester: Year Prerequisite: Grades 11-12
Application required and selection is based upon grades and attendance; Dues for DECA. This course will focus on the study of marketing concepts and
principles and their practical applications along with work-based learning experience. Approved work sites include: retail, banks, cashiers, sales, grocery
and department stores. Students will work a minimum of 15 hours per week. DECA membership is required.
3rd Period - 11:40 – 1:50 - 8141 Entrepreneurship Credit: 1 Semester: Year Prerequisite: Grades 11-12; Principles of Business
A course designed to provide a foundation to plan, design, and start a profitable business venture. A component of this course is the development of a
plan for a new business.
4th Period - 1:55 – 3:25 - Job Sites
5th Period - 8:25 – 10:00 8144 Practicum in Marketing Dynamics 1 Credit: 3 Semester: Year Prerequisite: Grade 12; Marketing Dynamics;
Application required and selection is based upon grades and attendance; Dues for DECA. An advanced marketing course with an emphasis on developing decision making skills through a combination of school-based technical instruction and on-the-job training at an approved work site. The development of a marketing research project is a component. Students will work a minimum of 15 hours per week. DECA membership is required. Possible certification opportunity available.
