Have you ever thought about how your life would look like if you lived in zero gravity?

Every time I see a shuttle taking off from the Kennedy Space Center I imagine myself being one of the team members leaving the Earth to learn more about the universe. Then I pause for a minute and start wondering if I could be able to survive these unusual conditions that astronauts need to get accustomed to. What if I am hungry or sleepy? What if I really need to go to the bathroom? How would I move in zero gravity? There is just too many questions that need to be answered. I think there is just one thing I can do about it. I need to become an astronaut and take off to experience life in zero gravity. Oh, wait a minute! I cannot do it. I forgot that I need to attend an important seminar this weekend. Well, the shuttle is taking off on Friday afternoon and I will not make it. What a bad luck! Then I thought since you have no school on weekends you can go out there to find the answers to my questions.

Can you all board one shuttle?

Unfortunately, a shuttle doesn't have as much room as you might think. There are only seven people that enter a shuttle.  A crew consists of seven members (Commander, Pilot, and Flight Engineer, Payload Specialists , Mission Specialists) each having special responsibilities and tasks to accomplish.

Are you ready to take off?

I hope so. Before you board the shuttle please read the book Steps to Countdown. Your mission would not be easy. Surviving a weekend in zero gravity is a challenging task, especially that you will need to report to me on a regular basis. I arranged three shuttles to take off from our school's baseball field on Friday afternoon. Seven members will board each shuttle and take the responsibility of each crew member. Attached please find your name and the time of your shuttle's take off.

Please play the attached movie clip to prepare for your journey

As you arrive in zero gravity environment please use the class blog as our communication tool.

BE SAFE!!!
