About Me

I was born and raised on Long Island, New York before moving to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for my freshman year of college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After a hard decision making process, I decided to transfer to complete my college studies. I was given the opportunity to attend Louisiana State University on a full athletic scholarship and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2008.  During my career at LSU, I was a member of multiple national championship contending teams as well as earning three individual national and six Southeastern Conference championships in my individual disciplines. I was also a member of the 2008 United States of America track and field team which competed at the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. As a member of the USA national team, I was crowned World Junior Champion in the men's hammer throw and was also introduced to my future wife, Rachel, who was a pole vaulter on the USA national team. Rachel was also a member of the LSU women's track and field team.

I moved to Texas in 2011 to work as a oilfield hand to earn money to help my fiance and I establish a financial base to continue our desired careers. During this time in the oilfield, I attempted to complete my final remaining course, a psychology course, through the LSU distance learning program while at the same time working seven days a week for twelve hour shifts. During this time, I was also continued pursuing my physical fitness goals of transforming myself from a track and field strongman into the type of fitness model required to successfully complete police training academy.

Since graduating from the police academy, and promoting to a patrol officer, I married my wife in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 26, 2013 and we have established roots near San Antonio. My wife and I are 'doggie' parents to two great dogs named Harley, a five year old toy poodle, and Bailey, a three year old pit-bull/ rottweiler mix. We are also expecting our first child in November of 2015. After a long process of interaction with LSU administration and LSU athletics academic support staff, I was given a second chance to complete my degree through a distance learning format by completing my final psychology course as well as this additional course, which was added to my degree plan since I left LSU in 2011. I am looking forward to the completion of my undergraduate studies through the on-line format where I will earn a bachelors in interdisciplinary studies with focuses on sociology, psychology, and kinesiology.
