Welcome to My Professional Teaching portfolio!

I decided to become a teacher in early childhood education simply because I want to make a difference.   I wanted to be many things when I grew up, like studying astronomy; and as a young girl I enjoyed learning about our solar system with all the billions of stars and planets. Wishing I could one day discover that one new star or moon far away.

In middle school I was able to help tutor children in grade school with reading and math.  I come from a large family where my mother taught me to care and nurture others. In my youth group I was the baby sitter for a few families with small children and to this day I still keep in contact with them.

 So I realized that I want to help make the children in this world shine like those stars in the heavens. Education is the field in which I feel I can have the greatest impact. All over our country and the world children’s rights to a safe and enriching place to learn and grow is threatened.  As a teacher, I will have a positive influence to change this. I realize that teaching is a profession that can be long and enduring, but I know in my heart that the skills, knowledge I can help children to accomplish will build a firm foundation to take them to the stars and shine bright in their futures.
